MANDU LAMP
RECÔNCAVO COLLECTION | 2025

ABOUT
"Mandú" is a traditional character from the carnival of the Recôncavo Baiano region. The figure consists of a wide garment and a stage prop head, supported by a long broomstick, creating a visually distorted body that is simultaneously comical, gigantic, and mysterious.
The Mandú Lamp embodies this poetic distortion. Its tall column evokes the elongated structure of a carnival costume, but, contrary to expectations, the light source is not at the top. It has been intentionally lowered, positioned at a height of 1.10 meters. This choice brings the light closer to the visual field of the seated person, creating a more welcoming lighting, designed for reading, listening, and contemplation. The frosted sphere of light, 10cm in diameter, appears to float.
Produced in tubular steel with electrostatic paint, the piece is available in black, sand, and blue, with bases that vary between Piguês marble and Roman Travertine.
